Maninee De-Mishra (aka Pari of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi) has joined the cast of Aroona Irani’s Naaginn. Elaborating on her role, she says, “I play Ambalika, who is a clairvoyant. It’s quite a funny character. Initially, she starts as a fake but later realises that she indeed does possess spiritual powers. She’ll be there to guide Amrita (Sayantani Ghosh) – the Naaginn.”

Is it yet another cameo role? Manini replies “It’s not a cameo role. Although, throughout my career I’ve felt comfortable playing cameos only. I’ve always believed in doing character roles. Ambalika is a very difficult and different character and take it as a challenge.”

Ironically, Manini fears snakes. She explains, “That’s the first ting I told the production house. I didn’t want any snakes around me. Once they agreed to my request, it’s only then that I gave my nod. After all, ignorance is bliss.”
