Prachi Desai’s winning the Jhalak Dikhla Ja finale did not go down well with many. Prachi scored 85 points as compared to Sandhya’s 86 from the judges. Though there was just a point difference the final verdict stunned the judges as if they were never expecting Prachi to win the title.

“See the judges can say and feel whatever they want but for me my audience is my God and they voted for me. I credit the audience who voted for me, my parents who supported me throughout and my choreographer Deepak who just transformed a non-dancer like me into a dancer. He always encouraged me and made me experiment all the times,” says Prachi.

But what about Urmila who said that Sandhya is her winner?
“She was a judge and as a judge she has all the right to express herself. My dance, my trophy and votes spoke for me. I have always said that Sandhya is a fabulous dancer but I am no less a winner. After all I am the one holding the trophy,” replies Prachi.

But wasn’t she upset with the judges’ reactions?
Prachi avers, “I was shocked because it was not that I was far behind Sandhya when it came to the marks given by the judges, I was just a point behind, so why were they stunned? But I was too happy feasting on my win that I just chose to ignore all that.” She adds, “I went to Jeetendra ji first and took his blessings and he was extremely happy for me Shiamak also hugged me and so did Urmila.”

Prachi adds, “I had won the title because of my talent and the votes that came from my audience. I worked so hard and God gave me the reward. The show was about celebrity dancers. I won because I am more popular. My audience liked me and voted for me. If I am not popular then I am no celebrity and I would have not been there on the show. Everybody said whatever they wanted to but finally what mattered was the votes and see because of that I am holding the trophy and have been declared the winner.”

And an aside… our sources tell us that Jay was the second highest in the audience votes.
