When the world’s fastest bowler comes on a show you can always expect great fire-works. And more so when it is Shoaib Akhtar. It was a sight to see the cricketer belting out his favourite Hindi numbers like Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and Inteha Ho Gayi on Sahara One’s Jjhoom India. An ardent fan of Kishore Kumar was at his best. Shoaib had also got a self- autographed bat for his favourite contestant.

And the lucky one was Roshni Chopra. The actress who was appreciated by the three judges was thrilled to have won the bat. An excited Roshni said, “Shoaib was very happy with my performance and his autographed bat is proof enough. I sang Kaisi Paheli from Parineeta and I was dressed like a 1960’s actress. He told me that I managed to take him back to 1960s with my performance. I got 29 on 30 from the three judges.”

But how was Shoaib’s performance? “He is a very good singer and has a great musical sense. It was rocking to watch him perform. He has been watching this show for quite sometime now and is amazed by the growth of the show. He was also amazed by my growth and was surprised that even actors can sing so well.”

Another participant Chavvi Mittal also hummed the same tune. Chavvi said, “Shoaib is a very flambouyant guy. He impressed each and every one of us with his performance.He loved my singing and gave me some encouraging words.”

It sure is going to be a treat to all his fans to watch their cricket idol in a new avatar.
