Priyamvada aka Simran of Meri Doli Teri Angana is not quite pleased with her co-star Gaurav Khanna. The latter has cut down on his work in Meri Doli.. as he’s busy with other shows. This often leaves the production house to use a body double. And this rightly irks Priyamvada especially while enacting intimate scenes.

“Enacting an intimate scene is done best if the actor himself is present. Good chemistry is vital for such scenes. If your co-star is not present, then you’ll never be able to do justice to the scene. I’m happy for Gaurav that he has more work but he too needs to give more time for us. I’ve never used a body double for my character so I expect the same professionalism from him,” Priyamvada informs.

When contacted Gaurav Khanna replied, “I’m not aware of my co-star’s unhappiness over the use of double body. I have a hectic schedule. I can’t work on three shows on the same day. Using a body double is part and parcel of our profession.”

Priyamvada was reluctant to carry out the scene and this infuriated Rahul Bhatt (producer) who then had a word with her. She apparently voiced her discontent to Rahul. “As a professional actor, one should always deliver your part no matter what’s happening at the other end. I had a word with Priyamvada and I explained the same to her. If you are uncomfortable in doing a particular scene then there has to be a genuine reason for you to back out,” said Rahul.

Being a true professional, Priyamvada canned the scene with the dupe. Atta girl!
