Babul Supriyo who was the original choice as host on music based reality show K for Kishore on Sony opts out it is Rajeshwari Sachdev who fills in. It is reported that he backed out as he is to all set to participate in NDTV Imagine’s Dhoom Macha De.

Albert Almeida, executive vice-president and business head Sony Entertainment Television confirmed the news saying, “We did approach Babul to host the show as he is great Kishore bhakt and knows a lot about him. He was the ideal choice but he was contractually bound by the other reality show on some channel that he is doing. So he lost here.”

So how would a female host do justice to a show focusing on Kishore Kumar? Albert replies, “Rajeshwari brings in a feminine touch to the show. She is a very good anchor, singer, actress and a dancer. She is very versatile and multi-faceted. Also she is a popular face of television.”

So how different is this show going to be from the series of other music based reality shows happened on Sony? “For the audience a show is a show. It doesn’t matter to them whether or not it is a reality show. If they like it they would watch it. I think K for Kishore is a relatable show as Kishore Kumar is one of the most entertaining singers in the country. Content-wise this show is very strong as we have 12 great and established singers participating in the show who have been aping and idolising Kishore Kumar.”
