We wish you a Merry X’mas!

X’mas means fun and frolic. It also marks the beginning of another year. X’mas means cookies, cakes, chocolates and Santa.

The movers and shakers of the small screen reveal their X’mas plans and some even lament on the X’mas that was.

When Santa came visiting

Festivals are gifting times. A traditional X’mas is all about exchanging gifts. And who doesn’t like to receive gifts? Young and old, male or female everyone loves to unwrap that mystery box and possess what lies inside.

Our telly stars are no different. We walked down memory lane with some of them as they turned the clock back in time to reveal their most cherished Xmas gift. And also what they aspire for this coming year.

Delnaz Paul

Most cherished gift: As a child I was pretty fond of dolls. One particular day, I was at my friend's place and there I happened to see this really pretty doll, clad in a brown velvet dress, with golden hair, blue eyes and it used to talk as well. Unfortunately, I learnt that it was an imported doll. Strangely during that Christmas my parents happened to gift an identical doll which they had bought locally. I was really taken aback as I had not told them my secret desire. Perhaps, my friend's parents may have mentioned it to them. I had this doll for about 25 years and it was only two years ago that I finally had to dispose it.

What gift do I aspire for? To be honest; I expect none. The festive spirit no longer exists. These days, Christmas has only been reduced to a glossy affair.

Cyrus Broacha

Most cherished gift: A few seasons ago, my wife and children were away from home for three weeks. Till date, that has been my most cherished Christmas gift. I was really happy sitting alone at home drinking and watching TV.

What gift do you aspire for? Gift! I'm a married man with hemorrhoids and a wife who doesn't want to have physical relations. Besides, I'm not going to call Santa and ask for a toy or a train which goes round and around. I only think of three things – cricket, dogs and sex. Santa is not applicable to answer these calls. He slams the phone.

Krystle D'Souza

Most cherished gift: I guess I was in my class 7 when my mother gifted me a Barbie set for Christmas. I still have the whole set with me.

What gift do you aspire for? I still hang the sock. Well, I'm hoping to get something which will be of daily use and in particularly on the sets.

Alex O'neil

Most cherished gift: There have been so many of them but it's really difficult to pinpoint one. I guess it shows that I've got a bad memory. However, as I grew older, the essence of the gifts declined. What I really cherish is the family coming under roof for the special occasion. My brother, parents, and close friends would gather together and have the traditional meal. That is something which I'm going to miss now.

What do you aspire for? To have my family besides me for Christmas. However, it's unlikely to happen. I don't aspire any gift but I hope to donate some to the underprivileged lot. If I'm able to bring a smile on a few faces, that will be my Christmas gift.
