interest was at an all-time high. What with
the marketing wheels in overdrive and with
some unique stuff called voting meters being
installed the Nach
Baliye 3
Finals were watched by an
entire TV
crazy nation.
The two finalists waited with abated breath
and empty stomach( Rakhi Abhishek having
fasted through the day) the results were
announced by Bollywood hunk Salman Khan.
The actor could hardly speak as he was nursing
a bad throat.
It was jodi number seven Aamir Ali and
Sanjeeda Sheikh who took home the booty,
consisting of Rs 20 lakhs, a car and the
trophy. The winning choreographers Arun-Chetan
got a cash prize of Rs 10 lakhs.
Aamir said, "I thank audiences who
supported and kept voting for me thinking
that one day I will be able to dance. I
am very lucky to have two choreographers
Arun and Chetan who made me dance finally.
I thank my mother and Sanjeeda's mother
for supporting us."
An animated Sanjeeda said, "I really
thank my fans for the support and love that
they had for us. I feel great holding this
trophy."
Rakhi and Abhishek left the sets disappointed
as soon as the results were announced. In
fact they did not wait to even claim the
runners-up trophy. In fact Salman requested
them to come on stage and claim their trophy
and show sportmanship but the couple did
not return.
A visibly tearful Rakhi was seen making
an exit.
The competition on Star One's Nach
Baliye-3 was heating
up and audience went restless to find out
who was to win the show. This time judges
Isha Koppikar and Vaibhavi Merchant set
the stage on fire with their dance moves.
But it was Salman Khan who stole the show
and hearts with his moves on popular numbers
from his movies.
The show also witnessed the performances
of all the evicted jodis of Nach
Baliye-3 and a power
packed performance by Nach
Baliye-2's participants
Shweta Tiwari and
Nach
Baliye's
winners Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar. Also
to tickle our funny bone and to ease off
the tension was Ehsaan Qureshi. And a surprise
dance by a cross-dressed Krushna.
When asked how important was it to win
for each of them, Rakhi said, "I want
to win this title so that I can really say
that I have won something in the end."
Aamir said, "It is all about winning
in the end. When there is a match between
India and Pakistan it doesn't matter that
you win or lose by two runs or one wicket,
what matters is who wins at the end. So
in the end winning is all that matters.
It is a mixed feeling of excitement, happiness
and nervousness," replied Aamir when
asked how it feels as the final announcement
was nearing.
The other winners in different categories
were: Pratap was awarded a prize by Vaibhavi
Merchant to accompany her troupe for their
show in Europe. Rakhi Sawant got the Ms.
Dramebaaz award and Haanji Haanji
award was bagged by Krushna
and Kashmira. Pooja Bedi
won the Bol Baliye award for speaking
non-stop on the show. The Mind Blowing jodi
award went to the hosts of the show
Hussain and Tina.
There were also another category of awards
which were voted by the contestants of the
show themselves: Most Damdaar Jodi
award went to Abhishek
and Rakhi, Karan
and Amita won the Most
Mazedaar Jodi award, Shweta
and Alexx were announced
the Most Jodidaar Jodi, Most Chamatkari
Jodi were Pooja
and Hanif and the Most Manpasand
Jodi was Karan
and Kavita. Salman challenged
all the males of the four jodis to a dance
which was eventually won by Alexx.
And finally it was curtains down on the
third season....and the end of one more
reality show.
