With
only a few days for 19 February when Balaji's
new baby, Kayamath comes to life
on air; an informal press meet with the
actors was arranged. Here are some insights,
for our audiences, on this brand new love
saga. Read on.
The first thing that strikes you about
Kayamath is the story, which sounds
heard-and-seen. Though what needs to be
watched would be the treatment meted out
to the show, which surely can make an ordinary
script an extraordinary feat. The story
in brief is the journey of Praachi (Panchi
Bora) and Neev (Jay Bhanushali) from being
friends to lovers. The cast of the show
also includes names like Shabbir Ahluwalia,
Neena Kulkarni, Suraj Thapar, Prachi Shah
and Mohnish Behl among others.
The protagonist of the show, the cute Assamese
beauty Panchi Bora, who was earlier seen
in the MTV show Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi
throws light on her character in Kayamath,
"I play Praachi, a sensitive and reserved
girl, who is extremely dependant on her
father, Inder (Mohnish Behl). I belong to
a middle class family and have my limited
aspirations before I start discovering that
I am gradually falling for my best friend
Neev." Adds Jay Bhanushali, "Our
families share a great rapport and I am
a happy-go-lucky guy who doesn't understand
what love means." Jay, who was spotted
in the rediff ad by the production house
further says, "It was my smile that
worked for me. Ekta Kapoor personally told
me that I have a cute smile. Now, I make
sure that I flash it everytime I meet her."
Actor Prachi Shah (the current Kesar),
who plays Panchi's mom in Kayamath says,
"I am very happy doing mature roles
in both of my serials. What I really find
amusing is the protagonist's name which
sounds as if I am calling myself. But I'm
thankful to Ekta for considering me for
her new show and I am enjoying every bit
of it."
Here's hoping that this daily too enjoys
the long innings that Kahin To Hoga
(the show which is being replaced by Kayamath)
had reveled.
