Juhi's loss,
Raveena's gain |
|
It's out by now that post
maternity, Bollywood siren Raveena
Tandon has been roped in by
Sony to anchor a chat based
show. But very few know that
she was not the original choice.
It was Raveena's one time contemporary
actor Juhi Chawla who was initially
approached by the channel. The
former beauty queen took her
own sweet time to give a green
signal as she was flooded with
movie offers post her recent
act in Salaam-E-Ishq.
So, it can be the wait or some
contractual disagreements which
caused the shift in gears and
this Sony project fell in the
lap of Raveena (it spells good
news either ways for the telly
junta!) If Kajol can
recreate the same hysteria after
a baby in Fanaa, so can
our mast-mast girl!

Sindoor director injured on the
sets |
|
The Zee serial Sindoor
Tere Naam Ka’s director
Debashish got injured recently
while shooting for one of the
sequences. Back after celebrating
the New Years Eve, the unit
was busy as usual with the shoot
when Sachin Sharma got too involved
in the shot that he hit the
camera with his hand. The poor
camera not only fell down but
fell on the director’s hand
and the shoot had to be stopped
for some time. Well, Sachin
too much of involvement is injurious
to directors health. Isn’t it?

| Why
Suresh Menon felt like an animal! |
|
Suresh Menon is just back
from his yearend holiday - "I
had been to Singapore with my
family and a large group of
our family friends. We were
there for a week and had a whale
of a time, mainly because of
our kids" enthuses the
chilled-out actor.
The best time he had was at
Sentosa Islands and at the zoo,
which his four-year-old son
Shiv who went ga-ga over the
pranks of the animals but Suresh
discovered that he himself was
a spectacle to the other visitors.
While the comedian was happily
clicking away the animals in
the zoo, he suddenly noticed
some visitors capturing him
in their cameras. He laughs
as he says, "I was shooting
the animals in the cage and
I felt like one outside the
cage as they were shooting me."
But his astonishment gave way
to glee when he realized that
they were his fans who had watched
him as Ratan Reimburse and other
characters in The Comedy
Show Ha..Ha..Ha and just
wanted to have his pictures
for posterity.
Meanwhile, after enjoying his
holiday, he is burdened with
a tension - his son's school
admission. So now, he's busy
filling up forms for the best
schools in suburban Mumbai.

Prolonged
wait for Aroona Irani's doli
|
|
Not being deterred with
the debacle of Sony's
Vaidehi, Aroona
Irani was already ready
to join the TRP race again
with her new show Doli
Saja Ke for Sahara
One. But there is some
disappointment on that
front too.
This family saga was
initially scheduled to
go on air on 15th January
which shifted to 22nd
and last heard it's being
postponed to February…..phew!
Fingers are being pointed
at the production house
which seems to be facing
some teething issues.
This shillyshally is
also testing the patience
of Barkha Bisht (she plays
the protagonist in Doli)…..who
is heavily banking on
this show as post Pyar
Ke Do Naam…this is
her only prime time daily
(ya she does anchor Popkorn
Newz on Zoom, but that's
passable!).
We all know the 'V' element
didn't work for Aroona
Irani so will her old
'D' fixation (Desh
Mein Nikla Hoga Chand)
bring good news for this
producer-cum-actor? But
for our answers we'll
first have to wait for
the day when her new show
finally takes off.
