Sony's
reality show Bigg Boss is slated for a wrap
up by the end of the week. So, what's going
to be replacing this much talked about show?
Speculations are rife that Shobhana Desai's
Durgesh Nandini is being considered
for the 10 pm slot. The promos of the show
are currently on air.
Durgesh Nandini is adapted from
Bankimchandra Chattopadyay's first novel
by the same name published in 1865 that
has earlier been made into a Bengali and
a Hindi film as well.
The show was in the news around two years
ago, but somehow the project got shelved.
In order to get the latest on the current
developments, we spoke to Anupam Bhattacharya,
who essays an important character on the
show. He says, "We're currently shooting
for the show and all I can say is that it
is slated for release in the coming weeks.
I cannot reveal much about it, though I
am enjoying myself thoroughly."
The buzz goes that many actors were considered
but then have been replaced. Adds Tasneem
Sheikh, who was considered for the negative
lead in the show, "I was approached
by the production house to play the vamp.
I even shot the pilot with them but was
later informed that I have been replaced."
Same has been the fate of Mihir Mishra who
was also approached by the production house.
To get more on Durgesh Nandini… keep watching
