Last
year's closure proved to be a turning point
in actor Ravee
Gupta's life, both professionally
and personally. She not only bagged a pivotal
role of Keksi, Ravan's mother in
Zee's mythological show on the demon God,
but she also got hitched to the love of
her life, Manoj Bidwai (17th December).
"I'm
too lazy to hit the gym" - Ravee
|
Tagged as a Shilpa Shetty look-alike of
the small screen, Ravee (once a model) has
a lissome figure, enchanting looks and above
all an envious height that sets her apart
from the current breed on television.
What makes us curious is how she maintains
such a well-toned frame and to seek our
answers we head straight to the lady in
question. And to our disbelief, Ravee confessed,
"I'm too lazy to hit the gym. I feel
so guilty of not working out, but after
slogging on the set for hours, I just don't
feel like straining my self any further."
Though technically she would love to work
out (hard core stuff) for at least three
days a week.
Ravee's a self-confessed rich food eater,
so wonder where those extra calories find
their way! "I am very lucky in the
sense my physiology is such that I don't
gain weight, even if I hog fatty stuff,"
she admits. On a lighter note she adds,
"My actor husband Manoj Bidwai just
hates me for this for the poor thing has
a very bad tendency of pilling on extra
kilos, even if he breathes!"
"Actually till about two years back,
I was extremely thin. So I used to do aggressive
weight training (five days a week) and the
result is there for all to see. Now, I have
a great figure to flaunt. Those months proved
to be the best times for me health wise
as I would not only feel fresh all the time,
my self confidence was also on a high post
work outs. I would want love to follow the
same ritual even today. But unfortunately
I end up enrolling in various gyms and then
keep dropping out. I guess this habit of
mine must have definitely helped many a
gyms to flourish," she laughs.
"Manoj
is a die hard fitness fanatic"
- Ravee with her hubby who's also
an actor.

But why a fascination for a gym; one can
workout even at home, rite? "It's just
that I like the entire ritual of getting
dressed in the gym gear, working out with
others , watching my frame in all the mirrors
and the best part, drinking the protein
shakes at the gym café after finishing
up," Ravee states as a matter of fact.
Though this lanky actor doesn't work out
much, she believes that it's very important
for people in this industry to keep fit,
as the job profile is really physical. "Most
of us are on our toes 12-16 hours a day,
so stamina building is critical. Besides
you also need to look good for the camera,
which is no mean task! But the fact that
nowadays many gyms function 24/7, it has
become more convenient for people like us
to work out at any odd hour. And now post
marriage, since my hubby's a die hard fitness
fanatic, possibly both of us might make
it a point to hit the gym regularly,"
is an after thought she gives.
On this new resolution made my Ravee, we
sign off hoping that this time around she
does stick to her desired gymming ritual
(though she hardly requires to undergo the
grid)!
