Prolonged wait for Aroona Irani's doli

Not being deterred with the debacle of Sony's Vaidehi, Aroona Irani was already ready to join the TRP race again with her new show Doli Saja Ke for Sahara One. But there is some disappointment on that front too.

This family saga was initially scheduled to go on air on 15th January which shifted to 22nd and last heard it's being postponed to February…..phew! Fingers are being pointed at the production house which seems to be facing some teething issues.

This shillyshally is also testing the patience of Barkha Bisht (she plays the protagonist in Doli)…..who is heavily banking on this show as post Pyar Ke Do Naam…this is her only prime time daily (ya she does anchor Popkorn Newz on Zoom, but that's passable!).

We all know the 'V' element didn't work for Aroona Irani so will her old 'D' fixation (Desh Mein Nikla Hoga Chand) bring good news for this producer-cum-actor? But for our answers we'll first have to wait for the day when her new show finally takes off.

Renuka's Nach Baliye act!

Renuka Shahane and Ashutosh Rana were spotted doing a jig at a recent do. This act brings back the memories of the recently concluded dance show-- Nach Baliye 2, where star couples took part to show their dancing skills. We wonder why Renuka and Ashutosh didn't participate in the show given their liking for the art form. Or should we expect to see them performing in Nach Baliye 3 (If and when it starts). Adds Renuka, "I would love be part of such a show if I am given a chance." Well, are you listening, I mean the producer's?

Shruti and Anuj's bonding!

Shruti Ulfat and Anuj Saxena's bonding goes years back when both nursed Bollywood dreams. Shruti Ulfat, who gained popularity as the anchor of Antakshri on Zee TV, had earlier acted as Anuj Saxena's heroine in Sar Aakho Par, a film produced by Vicveck Vasvani. The original choice for that film was Tara Deshpande who backed out because she bagged another film Is Raat Ki Subhah Nahi, which did reasonably well. Shruti took up Sar Aakho Par, the film flopped but she started getting better roles on television. Similarly, Anuj too attained fame after he acted as Abhay Kapoor in Sony's Kkusum.

Some are not just cut out for Bollywood as it was proved again when Anuj's Lips with Mausami Udeshi is still lying in the cans for want of distributors while Shruti's second Bollywood attempt in Gafla went unnoticed.

Hope they have realized, "it is better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small one in an ocean!"

Karishma Tanna is embarrassed!

The coy and demure Palak of Palki is embarrassed at her own behaviour. No, not as Palak but as the present Ayesha of Ek Ladki Anjaani Si - we are talking of the tall and gorgeous Karishma Tanna with negative shades in the
serial ELAS.

After she has killed Ananya (Kanchi Kaul), or so she believes, Nikhil's (Shakti Anand) love and wife, Ayesha is all set to fill in the void of Nikhil's life. She is ready to go to any extent and in this attempt, Karishma says, "I had to do a bathroom scene, the promos of which have taken the viewers by storm. For this is the first time a seductive bathtub scene with Shakti will be seen shown on the small screen. I was quite thrilled at the same time embarrassed too while performing the scene." But she assures it is not cheap and has been shot aesthetically.

"No, I am not comfortable with such shots, but since it was required I did it," rues the actor. And does the hero fall into her trap and forget his deceased wife Ananya? "No, after all these efforts, he doesn't," laughs Karishma.

But we are sure the viewers will not only fall for the charming and sexy Karishma but ask for more!
