Fondly recalled as Iqbal, he tickled many a funny bones with his recent flick, Apna Sapna Money Money and now Shreyas Talpade takes his turn to pay respect to the genre of comedy….but this time on television!

This Marathi mulga is geared up to don a new role, that of a host for Star Gold's Comedy Honors, an initiative by the channel to pay tribute to Indian comic excellence, all through the month of April. Sharing screen space with him is Purbi Joshi of Star One's Comedy Show Ha Ha fame.

Speaking about his TV stint, Shreyas Talpade says, "This will be my first-ever anchoring stint and I am very excited. I have grown watching some of the greatest comedy films and I truly believe that it is easy to make one cry but difficult to make one laugh. It's great that Star Gold has launched this unique initiative to honor the comedy genre of Indian cinema and I am very happy to be part of this."

An ecstatic Purbi remarks, "I enjoy doing comedy and it is on Star One's comedy show where I got an opportunity to do some of the best comic gags. Honoring this genre is an excellent initiative by Star Gold and I am glad that I will be hosting it along with the very talented Shreyas Talpade. I look forward to have a fun-filled and exhilarating time!"
