Life
comes a full circle! |
|
News has floated that Ashwini Kalsekar.
will once again revive her association
with Sony's CID. On popping some memory
pills, one can recall that years back,
this talented actor enjoyed a sound
spell on this long running hit investigative
show before hitting jackpot as Jigyasa
with Zee's Kasamh Se. Producer
- director, BP Singh has confirmed
this comeback by stating, "She
will appear on my show in the not
too distant future. Ashwini will be
playing a senior cop and will be seen
in quite a few episodes."
Kalsekar, who has bagged this year's
Indian Telly Award for best actress
in a negative role, was in fact invited
by Singh for the recently held 10-year
celebratory bash for CID. And it was
at this occasion that the director
offered her to join them back to which
Ashwini agreed.
We are sure this Maharashtrian mulgi
will again woo her audiences as her
golden days are already on the roll,
with Sony's Jeete Hain Jiske Liye
and a-soon-to-be-unveiled project
in her kitty.

| Extraa
Innings goes cool! |
 |
In keeping with image of World cup
cricket host country, West Indies,
as a fun and a happening place, Set
Max has re designed the studio of
Extraaa Innings, its famous pre and
post match show hosted by noodle strap
Mandira Bedi and cricket wizard Charu
Sharma. The formal studio type look
seen in previous editions will be
replaced by a casual look and feel.
This time around the host & panelist(
Tony Greig, Ian Chappell John Wright
with not sit uptight but will rather
move away from the desks and lounge
around fancy coffee tables.
There will also be an projection behind
that will play interesting facets
of the Caribbean Islands, its happening
beaches and beautiful and friendly
people. By now we all know a lot about
Mandy's hep sarees and blouses, wonder
what clothes Charu and other guests
will wear?
In keeping with the above trend, hope
they turn up in multi coloured Hawain
shirts and short with a typical straw
hats, guzzling chilled bear and passing
flirty remarks, besides talking about
cricket as well.

| Hooda
the fightercock |
|
By now it's old hat that Vikas Manektala
aka Hooda of Left Right Left has a
huge attitude and doesn't miss any
opportunity to throw his weight around.
According to the grapevine, Vikas
picks up a fight with everyone from
the spot boy to the dress designer,
including his co-stars. Recently,
when they were shooting a scene where
Dr.Shalini (Aparna Tilak) turns into
a crystal gazer and predicts the future
of the cadets and others, Vikas refused
to shoot. Neither did he leave the
sets but sat outside saying unless
and until his payment was made, he
will not shoot.
Of course, not that this bothered
the director who went ahead with the
scene without Vikas, although he is
one of the main characters in the
serial.
Reports have been filtering in regarding
his high-handed behaviour with everyone
except Priyanka, Naina in the serial,
for whom he has a soft corner. It
is believed that they are seeing each
other.
The serial deals with men in uniform,
training cadets for military enrolment
and is quite a hit on SAB TV, with
actors like Puneet Issar, Rajeev Khandelwal,
Shveta Salve, Aparna Tilak and Priya
Arya besides a lot of youngsters as
new comers like Vikas Manektala, Kunal
Kapoor, Priyanka Bassi and Ghazal
Rai. Versatile actor Rajesh Khera
had also essayed the role of a Major
on the campus.

| Aroona
Irani's negative act |
|
Queen bee of soaps, Ekta Kapoor
loves to shock viewers with her unexpected
twists and turns in her saas bahu
soaps. The recent re-entry of Daksha
Ben in Kyunki being a case
in point. Sometime back, the generation
leap in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki,
along with Parvati's new look and
the entry of veteran actor Aroona
Irani helped her boost her TRPS
For the uninitiated, Aroona Irani
has been shown as a friend, philosopher
and guide to Parvati. Now, the buzz
goes, that the audience will receive
a big shock when Aroona Irani would
turn negative. This will also go to
add on to Parvati's non-ending emotional
battle, and her unending tears.
Irani's role was initially only for
three months but going by the viewer
feedback, looks like the track is
being carried forward. Also, since
her own show Doli Saja Ke for Sahara
One has got delayed, now the producer
can focus on Ekta's show for the moment.
.
So, are we all ready for the shock
when Aruna shows her true colours
?

| It's playtime
for Kitu ! |
|
On the sets of Kulvaddhu
whenever the actors are free
and when the complete star cast
is present, they passionately
play dumb charades. A
little birdie from the sets
tells us that Kitu Gidwani's
knowledge of Hindi films is
very limited.
So, to catch up on Hindi film
names she did some research
and went prepared on the sets.
The actors working on a daily
soap like Kulvaddhu seem
to be getting enough time to
play dumb charades on
the sets. Well shouldn't we
call it a luxury in an industry
that is always blamed for the
infamous burn-out syndrome!!

| With love
from LA! |
|
Mr. Maverick, Anuj Saxena
was in for a pleasant surprise
on Valentine's Day, given by
a crazy fan who hailed from
saat samundar paar -
Los Angeles.
The fan in question goes by
the name Sheela Thakerar (in
her late 50's) who travelled
all the way to India to personally
greet Anuj on the special day
on 14th February. Here's what
Sheela has to say about her
charming man: "I can't
pinpoint on just one reason
to adore Anuj. He is handsome,
successful and yet polite. I
watch all his serials and also
record them. In fact, I still
watch Kkusum daily,"
she says with excitement. What's
interesting is that Sheela has
also landed in India before
on Anuj's wedding.
Apparently, this time around
it wasn't a planned trip at
all. "Yes, it was impromptu.
I just felt like meeting him
and decided to come here,"
she says. Sheela gifted him
flowers, a jumbo card and floating
candles. "I want to give
to gift him in person and took
the opportunity to chat with
him my heart's fill. Of course,
I am not going to tell you what
I spoke with him," she
grins.
But unfortunately Sheela had
to share this precious time
of hers withan with an Indian
fan of Anuj, Mala Shetty. The
latter too wanted to greet Saxena
personally on Valentine's. Mala
says, "I like to interact
with Anuj and also share with
him my feedback on his shows.
It will help him grow,"
So Anuj's quite a hit with
the older bracket huh! So can
we take the liberty of labeling
him as the 'aunty's boy'!

Friends? Nah!! |
|
Aashka Goradia, who is currently
seen in Kinnari Mehta's Sindoor
Tere Naam Ka has been avowing
her 'good friendship' with actor
Shama Sikander (of Yeh Meri
Life Hain fame). But another
actor on the grounds of anonymity
let it out that Shama dislikes
being called Aashka's friend.
In fact she doesn't even acknowledge
her as her friend! Industry
people who know both these actors
can vouch for the fact that
both are different as chalk
and cheese - Goradia is soft
and moody while Shama is vocal
and ambitious.
If goes down memory lane, it
is known that Aashka is tagged
with a not-so friendly reputation,
be it her friction with Rucha
Gujarati for copying her hairstyle
during the KKusum days
and even Nausheen Ali Sardar
with whom she is till not on
talking terms.
Is it paucity of good friends
near her that Aashka has to
resort to jabadarsti claiming
others to be her pals?
