The
poker-faced funnyman Shekhar Suman, after
his failed stint with movies and successful
one with television beginning with Dekh
Bhai Dekh, winding through many serials
and hosting his shows like Movers and Shakers,
is all set to move towards another direction.
Recently he cut a music album and has a
couple of films too. But what's different
is for this not-so-avid a cricket buff is
to host a cricket programme for the Reliance
92.5 FM channel.
"Though I am interested in catching
up with only those matches where India is
playing, I will be well-informed about the
cricket scenario," says Shekhar, adding
further, "When I went to South Africa,
I got to understand the psychology of the
pitch work. Our players don't have the killer
instinct. They have got to win one match
to win again. Otherwise their morale goes
down and they become slack."
"Every day from 5th to 28th of March,
I will be hosting a programme based on World
Cup, along with Harsha Bhogle," says
Shekhar. While Harsha will be commenting
in English, Shekhar will provide the lighter
and entertaining side of the game in Hindi.
Talking about the seriousness of the game,
according to the actor, "Since cricket
becomes top-heavy if you follow the commentaries
alone, my role will be to make it light
and interactive with spoofs and fun. I will
make listening more enjoyable."
We are sure, Shekhar with his wry sense
of humour, will definitely generate interest
making even the average cricket fan enjoy
the commentaries!
