Just
like her counter parts in the television
industry, glam babe, Negaar Z Khan too seems
to be smitten by Bollywood. She quotes,
"I am quite willing to try my hand
at films, but will not struggle for it.
If something lucrative comes along, I will
surely grab it with open arms." What
if an item number comes her way?
 |
"I would love to do song and dance
routines, but item number's are a strict
no no. Yes I have gyrated in cameos for
serials like Kaahin To Hoga and Kaisa
Yeh Pyaar Hai but not for movies. I
am not comfortable with exposure, and so
I am game for roles which highlight my acting
skills and not just my physical attributes".
Khan, who first shot to fame in tellywood
by delivering a spectacular negative act
in Zee's Lipstick has quite a number of
projects to her credit - Hum Do Hain
Na, Ek Ladki Anjaani, Kasamh Se, India Calling.
She is currently busy with two shows on
hand, Sahara One's Zaara (a vamp
again) and SAB's Yes Boss (a comic
role).
"In Zaara, my character Ayesha
is over the top, a very loud woman who wants
to control the affairs of the house and
for that she is reedy to go to any lengths
to achieve her ends. Ayesha can even be
called a bimbette to some extent, "she
says elaborating on her role. Negaar does
not think that just because she is a Muslim,
it was easier for her to enact her role.
"Apart from enouncing Allah Allah
consistently, there is nothing similar
between us. I hardly speak Urdu and have
no interaction with Lucknowi folk, where
the serial is supposed to be set."
On a parting note, Neegar lets out, "I
makes me sad that people keep typecasting
me in negative roles, hence I keep making
repeated attempts to try my hand at other
genres of acting".
Is this sign off line enough to send the
right feelers?
