Poonam Dhillon :

Recently Ekta Kapoor announced on a media platform that post Smriti's decision to quit Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabi Bahu Thi, there are three veteran actresses namely Padmini Kolhapure, Gautami Gadgil, Poonam Dhillon that she has approached to essay the legendry Tulsi Virani.

Industry is abuzz with rumours that Poonam Dhillon might replace Smriti Irani in the pivotal role of Tulsi in Balaji's flagship show "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi".

However when we contacted Poonam to confirm the news and whether she has signed the dotted line, she replied in a state of shock, "I have had no conversation and there is no truth in it. May be you should ask Ekta (Kapoor)as she gave a quote on the subject".

Poonam was last seen in Shobha De's Kitty Party on TV and made a huge and is now coming up with a sequel to her play a perfect husband which is titled "Perfect Wife".

Our sources claim that though the clod war is on bull blast between Ekta and Smriti, the talks of not letting Kyunki suffer are still on… big money is being negotiated and Ekta's best back up are the ladies she has been talking to. In our opinion none of them are a perfect fit for Tulsi's character as each lacks some vital ingredient of the character. Poonam in our opinion is too sweet to stand up to the strength that Tulsi holds around her, Gautami Gadgil can not match the screen presence and the might of the character etc… for now we know that only two ladies are in the pipeline as Poonam denies being interested in Kyunki.

To keep yourself abreast with the latest gup on Ekta and her new Tulsi or the return of purani Tulsi, stay logged on.

Ronit's Kasamh Se Act :

It's hardly been a fortnight that Ronit Roy made a stunning entry as the rich NRI business man Aparijt Deb in the post leap Kasamh Se as Prachi Shah aka Bani's love interest and he is already making news! The effervescent actor is gorging on the screen space; and is seen overshadowing the boastful method actor Ram Kapoor.

We think Ronit carries the look and body language with a panache that is almost invisible to find on screen. In fact it reminded us of his entry as Mr. Bajaj in the now lost soap Kasautii Zindagi Kay. Recently in another scene with Bani's Daughter and Jai Walia, he over shadowed Ram Kapoor like a dark cloud over the moon; poor Naman Shaw appears like a prune in comparison to Ronit which almost broke our heart in sympathy.

The look is designed with a certain wicked aspect in mind and it seems to have worked perfectly well of the show. Its TRP's are on a rise however the applause is bring in a lot of unspoken bad blood to the stars of the show. Bani though doesn't need to worry about her role, the men have gone into extreme silence and latent insecurity regarding their roles. Pawan Shankar has been on a forced sabbatical regarding the same though under the pretext of his upcoming movies. However our sources confirms, "The unit bonds very well on the sets but don't let that fool you!"

In our opinion this is going to be one big hide and seek game It's a problem that won't surface for long as Ronit seems to be Ekta's new replacement and TRP back-up to Eijaz Khan barring Shabbir Aluwalia of course.

As the show gains pace, there will be more meat to offer… so stay glued!

Wicked fun :

Now we all know that Manish Rai Singhani is quite a prankster and his co- star Kadambari aka Janki in Teen Bahuraaniya will definitely agree with us.

Once on the sets of the show, Manish was losing his patience when she wouldn't open the make up room fast. Manish quietly took a couple of puppies wandering nearby and unleased them put it into her room.

Kadambari
shrieked in horror and immediately tried to leave the room but to her horror, he had even locked it from outside. Finally she managed her way out but was furious as fire.

So, what did our victim have to say, "I was so freaked out, I wanted to murder Manish. He is one big prankster. But it was funny at the end of it. I am quite comfortable with him although this is the the first time I'm working with him. "

Well Manish, this time you're forgive; hope you're lucky the next time too.

Sooraj Thapar :

Kayamath's Sooraj Thapar has been a busy man off late, scuttling between rehearsals for his latest play The Perfect Wife, Kayamath sets and rushing back home to take care of his ailing mother.

Sooraj has since then taken over the reins of the household. However it did not take much time for him to realise what a hard task he had on his hands.

When we heard the news of his homemaker stint we buzzed Sooraj to narrate his experience, "It's a tense period as my mom was unwell. In the meanwhile, my culinary skills have definitely improved! Now I feel confident about preparing edible food."

His enthusiasm is praiseworthy as he managed to prepare three meals a day but then the entusiam didn't last long. He soon screamed for help to his sister in Delhi, who is now in his Mumbai pad helping him get back to the schedule and their mother to a healthy recovery.

Sanjit Bedi left out of Kasturi :

Ekta's much awaited show Kasturi has finally gone on air. The first person to speak to the world that he's doing the show was Sanjit Bedi. But ironically, the show has gone on air without even the actor being informed about it. Now if the the buzz is to be believed then the reason for showing him the door was that Sanjit's doing Smriti Irani's Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasmaan.

Well, Sanjit Bedi is quite upset though he refuses to admit this to anyone; afterall he still continues to be a part of Kasauti remember.

Jas walks out of Doli Saja Ke :

We had told you about Jas Arora replacing Anuj Saxena in Aruna Irani's Doli Saja Ke for Sahara One. But now it seems, even he has walked out of show after shooting for a few episodes. A little birdie told us Jas was made to wait for seven hours for a particular shooting sequence and then he was asked to wear glasses for a slightly mature look.

For those uninitiated, the good looking hunk plays father to Barkha Bisht in the show and the role (a cameo of sorts - almost 20 episodes) was earlier slated to be enacted by Anuj Saxena but he recently quit it on grounds of inordinate delays.

Though the production team tried to convince the actor he categorically refused to wear glasses. The grapevine goes that Jas was also unhappy with the production house's way of functioning and just left the sets in a huff and refused to shoot.

The show is going on air on 30th of this month and promos currently on-air look quite promising. But now the moot point is who will replace Jas?

Keep watching this space for more and we'll keep you posted on the next best replacement for the role

The Ekta-Smriti war :

Is the Ekta-Smriti war for real ? The news of Tulsi maiya being replaced by Gautami Gadgil in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi ,the mother of all soaps has left us a wee bit confused. Now, wots the real story behind this?

Our khabru reveals that there have been some undercurrents between the guru shishya since the time the latter turned producer. When Smriti was hell bent on having her way, Ekta went ahead and supported her as a co-producer with Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasmaan.

Later when Smirti was ready to roll out Viruddh, Ekta backed out of Thodi…
Smriti who's now playing the lead in more than three serials is unable to give Kyunki the required time and in fact the creative team has been having a difficult time carrying on the shoots. Obviously, the Balaji head honcho is miffed at this. Or is she also miffed at the fact that Virrddh has actually been able to create quite a buzz in the market?

Though we can't really imagine Kyunki without Tulsi, but then remember Ronit replaced Amar Upadhaya as Mihir and actually became more popular over a period of time. Afterall, the small screen is about characters and not about actors. Will the creative team be able to pull off another actor as Tulsi who's so integral to the soap? Or will it be the end of Kyunki; afterall all good things in life come to an end remember.

Maninee signs a Ken Ghosh film:

Maninee De Mishra has been on a filmy ride for a while now. After playing best pal to Priyanka Chopra in Rakesh Roshan's super hit Krisshh this bubbly actor will now star in Ken Ghosh's Chain Kuli Ki Main Kuli.

Also featuring in this kid's flick are Rahul Bose and 13-year old child artiste Zain Khan. Bose is essaying the role of a cricket captain in this funny, warm and sentimental film. The direction department will be handled by Tamara Nidungadi for Sargam Films.

Unlike the rest of the popular cast, Zain is a new face in the film industry. To familiarise you with him, he has modelled for ads like Boost with Sachin Tendulkar and for Asian Motor Cross Champion.

Chain Kuli…has an array of emotional twists and preaches a moral in the end. As Ghosh puts it, "the film and is about believing in yourself to succeed."

The chirpy actor has been successful in delighting her young fans with her amusing antics in Krisshh. And this time around we're sure she will deliver the goods.

Supriya Shukla and Jhanak :

In the entertainment world, often times one finds mother-daughter or father-son pairs in the same profession. They may not work together but definitely share the same platform. Here we've found a mother-daughter duo who've quite some name to claim fame.

Do you remember Rima Sen's mother in Paraneeta or Dia's in Lage Raho Munnabhai or Kunal Kapoor's in the latest Hatrick? She's tellywood's Supriya Shukla aka Karuna in Sony's mega show Jeete Hai Jiske Liye.

Now do you remember a little robo-girl in Sony's time for kids 'Karishma Ka Karishma (the Indian version of the hilarious English children series Small wonder)? Or better still Priety Zinta's youngest sister in Kal Ho Na Ho? Yes, the lucky Jia who was proposed marriage by Shahrukh Khan.

Well, we discovered for you this celebrity mother daughter duo- Supriya Shukla and Jhanak. Supriya asserts, "Its funny how at the tender age of eleven she has already reached the heights." There's not much space to soar higher, is there now? "Not really, I also think that as she has done commercials, T.V series and now a movie with top director Karan Johar. With so much in her kitty most of her aspirations are fulfilled."

Now that's what we call being blessed! Some just have it all, don't they?

Chaitanya turns 29 today !

Chaitanya Chaudhary aka Uday of the now-redundant Balaji serial Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye is all geared up to celebrate his b'day today.

"Normally I throw a party but this year I am busy shooting for Sangam. I will definitely go out for dinner with friends - basically hang out at our favourite joint and have a blast," laughs Chaitanya.

In his college days, his father had gifted him a bike and that is his most cherished gift till date. As for the most memorable party, a surprising birthday party was organized by his sister two years back.

One a rather nostalgic note he recalls, "A friend of mine flew down from Delhi. I went to pick him up and he started behaving strangely. First he asked me to come with him to some places and I just kept following him." Finally the friend told Chaitanya to take him home and when they reached home, the actor found all his friends waiting to give him a surprise. "My sister had planned it with my friend in such a way to keep me out of the house and arranged this party.

We had a blast,"says Chaitanya.

Here's wishing the actor a very happy birthday!

Gaurav and his diplomatic stands

More in news for his personal life, for a change Gaurav Chopraa is making it to the scribes for professional reasons.

There had been a lull in his career graph post his act in Desh Main Nikla Hua Chand and 'dum'daar moves in Nach Baliye 2. But now the scale is gradually moving high with the stubbled actor bagging a few promising assignments.

He has been zeroed in for the second innings of SAB's Left Right Left, though he maintained a stoic silence when asked to divulge details about the same. Our khabru who works overtime pegged us that he's also doing a new show, for which his 'no comments' stand was flagged. Along with these projects Gaurav will also be featuring in a music video for The Meet Brothers along with his lady love Narayani Shastri.

Gaurav it's high time that you cease the chuppi and flaunt your work portfolio just as you do when it comes to your social life.

Saas bahu aur Sampada

Saas Bahu and Saazish, Star News' daily tv infotainment show is in for a rehaul ! Of late, the rumour mills have been buzzing that Riston Ki Dor's lead girl, Sampada Vaze has been approached to anchor the show.

Currently, the show is being anchored by in-house news readers - Aditi Sawant and Sandeep Pandya.

With similar shows being launched on rival news channels, Star News now wants to add a bit of glam quotient to the show.

A source revealed that talks are indeed on with Sampada but currently money issues have put the agreement on hold. Sampada is not happy with what she is being offered and is demanding more. She has supposedly given Star an ultimatum that either come to my terms or call it off. In fact, Saas Bahu was supposed to start shooting with the new anchor tomorrow, but somehow things haven't been fixed.

Now with so many `out of work' actors around, we think Sampada should really lap up this very lucrative offer.

When Juhi said, "You are fired"

The effervescent and spontaneous Juhi 'Kumkum' Parmar has been making it to the scribes quite often these days. Be it her get-up in Star One's Antakshari or her recent painful eye injury, the lady has been quite carked. And to add to the list of her worries is trouble at paradise (read home).

Grapevine insists that Parmar had fired her housemaid for some reason best known to her. But the carefree actor did not know what she was getting into. She was in for a rude shock when the maid's boyfriend threatened her with dire consequences! Goondaraaj in the name of love kya?

Don't know if Juhi had to eat humble pie and keep back the retrenched bai or did she dare to lodge a police complaint?
