One
show, two exits from the same role and now,
at last a final replacement is found in
Aroona Irani's Doli Saja Ke on Sahara
One.
Akshay Anande (of Saath Phere and
Viraasat fame) will henceforth be seen
essaying the principal role of Vikram Kapoor
(Barkha Bisht's papa) which was initially
supposed to be enacted by Anuj Saxena and
later by model Jas Arora. As plotted earlier
his character was supposed to be a cameo
of sorts, 20 episodes, which may stretch
to a month depending upon how the story
flows.
Akshay has not only consented to take up
the part for the initial episodes but has
also started shooting and is quite excited.
Reports say that Anuj and Jas quit the show
because of inordinate delays and a need
for a spectacled look respectively. So what
made Akshay give a nod to this role which
was previously not acceptable to both the
actors?
Here's his version: "Anuj left the
show because he didn't have time and had
other commitments like his production house,
and not because he didn't like the role.
I took up Doli because it offered me a very
challenging role. I got to look at least
12 years older than what how I am portrayed
in other shows. I play father to a 22 year
old, which is surely a task for an actor
and will add to my acting portfolio. In
fact I have taken a liking to my get up
in the show."
How about juggling three shows on hand?
"Aroonaji requires only seven days
a month, Viraasat needs seven and
for Saath Phere it's 16 days. The
schedulers of Viraasat and Saat
Phere are organized and both the production
houses are accommodating, so it is easy
for me," explains Akshay.
Now that the hunt for Barkha's on screen
pa has ended we hope that the production
people will urgently modify it promos which
are still flashing Anuj as Mr. Vikram Kapoor.
