The
7th Indian Telly Awards was a night to remember.
The large audience witnessed some scintillating
performances by the stars. As at every occasion,
it's the behind the stage masala that always
escapes the audience's eye.
Tellychakkar's very own Mayur
Lookhar who witnessed all the
backstage happenings brings you those not-to-be-missed
moments.
Ekta's Bhool Bhulaiiya! At the 7th
Indian Telly Awards, Ekta Kapoor bagged
the award for the best continuing serial
(Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kahbi Bahu Thi).
After receiving the award Ekta headed to
give an interview back stage. After winding
up her interview Ekta forgot to take her
trophy. She's won many an award and perhaps
she's lost count of them all. But this one
was too special for her and she came back
for it.
Deven a doting husband! Deven Bhojani
won the best comic actor award for his character
Gattu in Baa Bahoo Aur Baby. On the
dais, Deven confessed to preparing a victor's
speech and it didn't take him long to read
from the piece of paper. Post receiving
the award he headed back stage for his interview.
Unfortunately for Deven, he had to wait
for some time. And an uneasy Deven requested
to be excused as his wife was sitting alone.
Now, that's what you call a doting husband.
Red Bull is the booster for Shaktimaan!
Popeye derives his strength from Spinach;
Stanley Ipkiss becomes invincible after
wearing the Mask, Anger turns Dr. Bruce
Banner into The Incredible Hulk. Ever wondered
what keeps our desi super hero Shaktimaan
(Mukesh Khanna) strong?
Well, here's the secret. Our Shaktimaan
was spotted sipping on to a Red Bull (energy
drink) backstage. If one had any doubts
over the energizer's effect, one merely
had to see the spirited performance by the
actor while dancing to the title track of
Om Shanti Om.
Akashdeep - the true showman? Akashdeep
Sehgal has been in the news lately for his
poor health. However, that didn't deter
him from performing at the Telly Awards.
Prior to his performance, the actor took
his dose of medicine. Now that's what you
call a true showman.
Quizmaster Basu puzzled by his award?
Siddharth Basu is not known to hog much
media space. For two decades, he's gone
about his work without making much hue or
cry about it. At the 7th Telly Awards, Siddharth
and wife Anita won the Hall of Fame award.
When congratulated by our team Siddharth
gave a somewhat puzzling reply, "I
don't know why I have been awarded."
Mr. Basu will forever remain modest.
Restless Karan! From the time he
arrived, Karan Oberoi was much clued on
to girl friend Mona Singh's whereabouts.
Mona was scheduled to perform in her Jassi
avatar. When she was about to make her stage
appearance, Karan, who was chatting backstage
ran to take his seat to catch his loved
one perform.
