He
was voted out initially but judges squabbled
with each other and brought him back. However,
the junta has shown the door again to Jaipur's
Toshi Sabri and this time there will be
no return. Toshi has been voted out from
Star Voice of India.
He says, "I was leading the voting
chart for three consecutive weeks and now
this result has indeed shocked me. I respect
our junta's verdict. My life has been full
of struggle. So, this isn't a first setback
for me. I'll continue to work hard."
More than Toshi, it was the judges who
were completely taken aback by the result.
Aadesh Srivastav described the junta's verdict
as 'Saraswati maa se dhoka' (cheating
with Godess Saraswati) while Jatin-Lalit
called it as sangeet ke saath nainsaafi
(injustice to music). A dejected Abhijeet
stated that from hereon he wouldn't comment
on any one's performance. All he would do
is to merely sit and watch.
Like the judges, the celebrity guests,
music director duo of Sajid-Wajid and Salim-Suleiman,
too were stunned by the result. However,
they offered Toshi a reason to smile by
promising him that they will make him sing
for their next composition.
Summarising his stay on VOI, Toshi says
"I was never bothered about the result;
all I ever wanted was to perform. When on
stage, I don't think about the judges or
the audience, but I like to be lost in my
singing"
The lad from Jaipur says that being praised
by the likes of Mahesh Bhatt and Jagit Singh
was very heart warming. He says "I
was overjoyed when Jagjit Singh said that
I sang the song 'Teri Deewani' better than
the original. I'll cherish this for the
rest of my life."
Life is all about overcoming obstacles.
Expect Toshi to emerge stronger from this
setback.
