The Balaji fall-out brigade is taking refuge in the upcoming channels. Tellywood's soap queen Smriti Irani-Malhotra has joined the bandwagon.

Smriti will produce and act in a daily for 9X. The channel will be launched on November 5th. Speaking on this development, Smriti says, "Our company (Ugraya Entertainment Ltd) was looking at collaborating with new channels. 9X and Ugraya make a great combination. I'm producing as well as acting in it."

She adds further,"It's not a saas- bahu saga but a family drama. The starcast will be revealed once the channel is launched. I can't divulge any more details."

The buzz goes that a top Bollywood star has signed for the show.

This will be revealed in due time but at the moment, the two most powerful women of Indian television (Smriti Irani and Ekta Kapoor) will take their battle onto a new field i.e. 9X. For those uninitiated, Ekta Kapoor is also producing a show for 9X.

We'll wait and see as to who scores an X while who gets the zero.
