One
look at Anokhi Srivastava is enough to convince
your heart that this is my-girl-next-door,
one who'll be liked by your parents too.
The irony of this tale is that looks can
be deceiving and it certainly holds true
for our presumably girl-next-door Anokhi
Srivastava.
Anokhi means different and this pretty
damsel is indeed unlike her name. In fact,
she admits to being a tomboy. Her character
in Main Aisi Kyun Hoon is one of
a traditional bahu. So, how does this tomboy
fit into the shoes of a typical bahu?
Says Anokhi, "I'm very much a tomboy.
Naturally, playing a traditional bahu is
indeed a difficult task for me. You can
get all the reports from our creative director,
Mukti. She's always behind my back and keeps
telling me the following -. Anokhi sit straight,
watch your back, you can't walk so fast
in a saree, you need to be very soft in
your speech."
Acting is still fine but what about the
costume and makeup? "I wouldn't say
much. One simply needs to ask my costume
designer and makeup artist. On a brighter
note, I'm slowly getting used to wearing
sarees" says a confident Anokhi.
We hope she masters this art quickly or
else the prospect of wardrobe malfunction
always looms large for a tomboy.
