Decorations are being put up in place, Ganpati idols have been booked, and our telly actors are also gearing up for modaks, masti and prasad for Ganesh Chaturthi. In fact, many of them have taken an off from their shooting schedules to bring home the lord of prosperity.

Sonal Miglani spoke to some of our telly ladies to understand what the festival means to them and how they are preparing to bring home the Vighnaharta.

Rajeshwari Badola
Ganesh Chaturthi for you: We still celebrate it in the traditional way as was introduced by Lokmanya Tilak. Celebrating this festival is my way of thanking god for giving me everything. However, the festival holds more of a commercial meaning these days.

I've a Maharashtrian cook at my place who will prepare different kinds of modaks, puran-polis and kaju katli for me.

D-day plans: Like every year, we'll be doing Ganesh sthapana at my place. I'll decorate the deity with lots of yellow flowers. I've brought a new asan and mukut.t Being a good singer, I'll be singing different artis for the vighnaharta. Varun will come home in the evening for the puja as the whole day he'll be busy shooting.

Poonam Goyal:
Ganesh Chaturthi for you: It's more of a family gathering. Both I and Mannish are very fascinated with Lord Ganesha. It means more than Diwali to me. I've been shopping for this festival for the last one week.

Recipes made on this festival: I'm a good cook and can prepare seven different types of modaks. This year I'll try to make modaks made of rice and dal as my son likes it a lot.

D-Day Plans: We bring home Lord Ganesha every year. It's a tradition initiated by my parents and now we're carrying it forward. Like every year, this year too I'll celebrate it in a grand way. I always plan out a theme and this year it'll be bandhej. I'll be gifting small Ganesha idols wrapped in badhej cloth to all my guests.

Supriya Pilgaonkar
Ganesh Chaturthi for you: It's one of our biggest festivals and more like a family gathering. It is believed that Lord Ganesha stays home and bestows his presence on all his devotees.

Recipes made on this festival:In my childhood days, I used to help my mother in preparing modaks but now, I don't get much time. However, I instruct my cook to make it.

D-day plans: I'll be visiting my grandparents in Pune as all my family members will take part in the puja. We all cousins will gang up together after a long time.

Rajshree Thakur
Ganesh Chaturthi for you: I believe Lord Ganesha is a true Vighnaharta or vidya ke devta who's brought home for ten days.

Recipes made on this festival:I love making and eating modaks. This time, I'll make oil and fat free modaks taught by my friend.

D-day plans: It'll be special as this is my first Ganesh Chaturthi post marriage. I'll not be working on this day. My day will begin with offering prayers to lord Ganesha early in the morning. My husband and me will visit the SiddhiVinayak temple.

Gautami Kapur
Ganesh Chaturthi for you: It's family time for me.

Recipes made on this festival:My mother has already prepared lots of modaks. She'll also prepare besan ke ladoo, puran poli, kajoo ki barfi and rava ladoo.

D-day plans: I've taken an off so will make sure to stay at home for two days. Decoration department will be handled by Ram whereas, I'll help my mother-in-law in the kitchen. This year, I'll make sure that my daughter should know the importance of this day. On the tenth day of visarjan I'll prepare a dish made up of all green vegetables as prasad.
