Kiran Karmarkar, who became a household name as Om of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii took a break from the show to join Smriti Irani's Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman. But now, after almost two years, the versatile actor is all set to return to the show.

"It's too early to spin the beans as yesterday was the first day of my shoot. All I can say is that I'll pose a different and fresh look in the show. Ekta wanted my character back with a bang. I'm looking forward to being a part of the show," says a thrilled Kiran.

Throwing more light on the current track unfolding in the K soap, he further adds," I took up this role because it's not an extreme character. Thankfully, Om is not as sadistic as Pranay. He still remains a pivotal lead character in Kahaani and will bring new twists in the tale."

He further adds, "Om's character will no longer be positive but will also have grey shades to it. He's married to Meera, who is Maithali's lawyer and now wants to take revenge from Parvati. It's a very strong character with all the unusual vibes in it. It offers me a lot in terms of acting. It felt really nice to be back on the sets, and at this stage I'm not supposed to reveal anything more about the character."

The current track goes like this. After a nationwide public voting which declared Pranay as a culprit guilty of raping his wife Maithali. He is currently behind the bars while Om returns in a negative avatar.
