Zee's
Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan will soon complete
one successful year. This tale of a Gujarati
family depicting the archaic mindset of
Indians has been widely accepted by viewers.
As a tribute to the show, the channel will
commemorate Betiyaan Diwas, a week
long celebration that'll see a lot of eminent
personalities talking about daughters.
"It's great to be a part of this show.
The channel deserves credit for highlighting
sensitive social issue like gender discrimination
and dowry. I would like to thank viewers
without whom we could not have achieved
this," says Twinkle Bajpai.
So, was she apprehensive of taking up such
a role? "I was more than happy to accept
such a meaty role. At the end of the day,
I'm satisfied as an actor," quips Twinkle.
How do you relate to your character? "I'm
just a replica of Laxmi. Both of them react
the same way to a similar situation,"
adds Twinkle.
Director Rajan Shahi says, "I'm thrilled
that Ghar Ki…has completed one year
and have no words to describe my happiness.
I'm honored to know that viewers across
the world have appreciated our hard work.
It's a unique theme of female emancipation
and the high ratings are a clear validation
of this fact. However, we're not going to
introduce any new characters in the show."
What's the concept of betiyaan diwas? He
says, "As our show is based on the
lives of four daughters so we thought of
celebrating daughter's day with a difference.
We've invited some well known personalities
from different working backgrounds to talk
about the sorry state of daughters in our
country and how we all can try to improve
it. We want people to stop discriminating
between sons and daughters."
