Akansha Kapil

Is food the elixir of life?Yes, it’s very essential.

Are you a foodie? A proud one

Are you a veg or non-veg? I’m a veggie who’s just switched to non-veg by eating fried fish.

Favourite cuisine: Chinese

Favourite dish: Steamed rice with veg curry from Mainland China

Favourite restaurant: Mainland China

A must at my breakfast table… A glass of milk

Sugar or sugar free for my tea/coffee: ½ tbs of sugar free or brown sugar

Lunch generally consists of… 2 chapatis, dal, any veg sabzi, chaas or curd.

For high tea I have… Usually, I exercise in the evening so after the workout I need to eat well. So, I have an early dinner.

Dinner generally consists of…Dal, chapatis or if I’m not too hungry then just a glass of milk.

Dessert delights… Baskin Robbin Ice-creams. I’ll be feasting on mangoes this summer.

One thing I can’t resist.. Ice-cream

My favourtie drink (non-alcoholic)… Fresh lime soda

My favourite drink (alcoholic)… I’m non-alcholic.

For a date I usually prefer… a coffee or Chinese or Italian.

At parties, I usually eat… I don’t party at all.

Experiment with food? I experiment with my Maggie noodles. Along with the seasoning, I add vegetables, coriander power and turmeric.

Most unusual dish I’ve tasted… A veg pizza with very thin bread in Bangkok. It fell apart the moment, I picked up the first slice.

On the streets, I love to have.. paani puri and a hot vada pav. I never got to see vada pav in Lucknow.

One place I would never eat again…All Udipi restaurants.

Do you cook? Yes, I’m not bad.

A recipe that you can share with us.. Rajma

Soak the dal in water overnight

Pressure cook it

Add chopped tomatoes, ginger, garlic

Add red chilli power

Add garam masala

Salt as per taste

Pressure cook again but only for few minutes and its ready to serve.
