Fool on masti
When celebs became easy prey

April 1. This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty-four. ~Mark Twain.

On Fools’ Day we called up few of our television stars to know how they were hoodwinked by others.

Here’s some fool on masti!

Rajesh Kumar: It was some four years ago when a person called me up at night and said that he is from my hometown Patna. He said that he had a parcel that was sent by my parents. I was asked by him to come to the airport and collect the parcel. He said that he was wearing a maroon shirt. I drove to the airport and found some six odd people in maroon shirts. I had to run for some 3-4 kms to find out the right person. Later my friends who were following me told me that it was a prank. Shruti Ulfat was one of them.

Shonali Nagrani:
The prank began with the director on my show Mr and Miss TV who told me to comment on the performance of the contestants. When I did that judges Sonali and Madhur got angry and said, ‘when you are commenting on the performance why are we here.’ Finally I told them that my comment will be edited from the show. But Madhur said that in fact both of them should be edited from the show. I was really hurt and didn’t know what to do. If it was only Madhur I could have understood that this is some kind of mischief but when Sonali also started commenting it made me uncomfortable. Basically they thought that I would start crying but I did not. When I realised that it was an April fool prank I just hid behind celeb contestants Kushal and Jasveer.

Sayantani Ghosh: When I was in 11th or 12th standard, I was a prey to my friend Joy’s pranks on April Fools’ Day. He called me saying that his father had a heart attack and was serious. He asked me to go to the hospital where his father was admitted as he was alone. I called up all our friends and went to the hospital but couldn’t find him. We thought that they must have left for home. We then decided to go to his house only to find that he had played a prank on us. I was really upset with the whole idea and asked him to at least spare his parents.

Roshni Chopra: I remember during the shoot of Kasamh Se, Ram and the director almost made me cry. We were shooting in Madh Island and as I completed my shoot Ram called me in the vanity van to show me a game on his computer. To my horror Ram and the director brought a huge crab from the bathroom and scared the daylights out of me. I was in tears and Ram was video shooting all this. After that they always used to blackmail me with the video. I can never forget that prank.

Kinshuk Mahajan: I remember on April fools’ days one of my closest pals told me that he was suffering from an incurable disease. I was so tense that I just could not concentrate on my work and also stopped eating. I kept thinking about him as he was my age. After three days the same friend called me up and said that it was just a prank. Though I was relieved I wanted to hit him. That is the one prank that I can never forget.
