Not
long ago, Rahul Bhatt’s daily Meri Doli
Teri Angna witnessed a complete overhaul
with a change in the entire cast. Fans were
very upset with the exit of the leading
pair Gaurav Khanna (Ruhaan) and Priyamvada
(Simran) and chose to express their disappointment
through emails to Tellychakkar. Back
then, we brought this to the notice of producer
Rahul Bhatt who refused to accede to the
public demand of bringing back the duo.
However,
it’s now learnt that alarmed by the fan
following of his lead actors, Rahul had
offered a return ticket to one of them.
Commenting on this Priyamvada says, “After
reading viewer’s feedback, Rahul had requested
me to return. However, the new track and
the new cast was something I wasn’t comfortable
with so I turned it down.”
Despite snubbing this offer, Rahul is keen
on casting Priyamvada for his historical
drama on Asoka. However, Priyamvada isn’t
keen on it as yet. She informs,“Yes, Rahul
has expressed a desire to cast me in his
new show. However, there’s been no progress
yet. Besides, I’m not so sure whether I’ll
have any concrete role in it. After all,
the focal point of the show will always
be Asoka.”
The actress seems to be on a snubbing spree
having rejected a role in Ekta Kapoor’s
Mahabharat too. “I was the offered the role
of Satyavati, Shantanu’s (Kiran Karmarkar)
wife but I turned it down as it wasn’t a
comprehensive role. From here on, I will
only take up roles which appeal to me,”
quips the actress.
She may not have any serials on hand but
Priyamvada isn’t sitting idle. “At the moment,
it’s just ads for me. A few of them like
Max New York Insurance, Voltas AC, Lizol
are already on air while the others will
follow suit,” says Priyamvada.
Well, we can conclude that for now fans
will see Priyamvada only in the break.
