The success of Comedy Circus has proved that actors can indeed do stand-up comedy. Inspired by the likes of Swapnil Joshi, Ali Asgar, Urvashi Dholakia, the crème de la crème of television actors will be fighting it out in the second season.

A reliable source informs, “Top TV actors like Sayantani Ghosh, Kamya Punjabi, Apara Mehta, Rajesh (Roseish) Kumar, Dilip Joshi have already signed on the dotted line. Another name that’s doing the rounds is that of Kashmeera Shah’s beau Krushna Abhishek. As regards their partners, Sayantani is paired with Kuldeep Dubey, Kamya with Rajiv Thakur, Dilip Joshi has Sudesh Lahiri.”

When contacted producer Vipul Shah (Optymistix) said, “These names are very much in the fray but I cannot confirm anything to you now.” He also refused to comment on the possible panel of judges.

While Vipul remain tightlipped, our source tells us that Satish Shah, Archana Puran Singh and Johnny Lever will be retained for the second season too. The show is likely to commence from June 2008.
