A day after April Fool’s Day, celebrities
often rant about their embarrassing sagas. Faisal Raza is amongst those who fell
prey to a prank. All that it needed for Faisal to be dumbfounded was a mere announcement
by the supervising producer that henceforth they would be shooting in Vikhroli.
This upset the actor so much that he decided to quit Sahara One’s Solhah Singaar. Though
it was an April Fools’ Day joke, he only realised it the next day. Says Faisal,
“I’d conveyed my decision to quit the moment I was told of the change in sets.
I came home and informed my family, who too were upset with it. Today, I was ready
to put in my papers when I got a call from Alok Tripathi (supervising producer)
saying that it was just a prank.” “Among the entire Solhah
cast, I’m the only one who has had the painful experience of working in Vikhroli,
when I was working in Betiyaan Apni Ya Paraya Dhan. The biggest bane shooting
over there is the traffic woes. Worse, it’s very far from my house (Lokhandwala).
Travelling consumes most of your time and saps your energies. Thus, there’s no
way that you’ll be able to do another show.” Ideally, on April Fool’s
Day, one should be prepared to face such a joke, why is it that Faisal failed
to see it coming? He replies, “Alokji told us that the channel is not happy
with the conditions prevalent at Acofan Studios (Kandivili), thus they wanted
to shift to Vikhroli. On the sets, each and every actor had a pensive look to
their face. While others didn’t say anything, I was adamant on quitting the show.
However, I’m glad that it was just a prank.”
