After the evergreen laugh riot Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai, Star One is back with an all new sitcom Paani Puri.

The story is set against the backdrop of two families hailing from different cultures. The Puri and Paani families come to live under the same roof after the marriage of their children Vikas Puri and Divya Paani. It is a romantic humorous show demonstrating clashes between these two families and romance between the couple.

Sumeet Raghavan and Smita Bansal will play lead roles. Other actors in the show are Sudhir Pandey (Dharmesh Puri), Shagufta Ali (Savita Puri), Homi Wadia (Pradyuman Paani) and Bhavna Balsaver (Veena Paani). Where Sudhir Pandey and Shagufta Ali are playing parents to Sumeet Raghavan (Vikas Puri), Homi Wadia and Bhavna Balsaver are going to be Smita Bansal’s (Divya Paani) parents.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Ravi Menon, EVP, Star One said, “Comedy as a genre has done extremely well and is now the backbone for most of the shows. The simplicity of the story and the characters will surely take the viewer’s through a joy ride.”

Lead actor Sumeet Raghavan said, “I am looking forward to the day when it will go on air. It has an interesting cast. I hope people enjoy it as much as they enjoy the chatpata flavour of paani puri.”

It will be telecast from August 30 every Saturday at 9 pm.
