As strange as it may sound veteran actress Navniit Nishan is to play mother to Navjot Singh Sidhu in a Punjabi movie. Well if it was not enough of Sidhuism on television the ex-cricketer will now be seen in Mera Pind. Navniit and Sidhu have earlier worked together in Star One’s Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka

.But like many others Navniit too is all ga-ga about Sidhu’s mannerisms and wit. She says, “As an actor I got to work with Sidhu for just a day or two in Nimmo. But he is a wonderful person. He is well-grounded and well-read. His wit is unbelievable.”

Talking about the movie Navniit says, “I am playing a dominating wife and the heroine’s mother. Sidhu is the hero in the movie. The story is about dignity of labour. We own a big hotel in Punjab and Sidhu, a NRI, comes to Punjab to make people aware of rights and dignity of labour.”

The movie directed by Manmohan Singh will be released during Diwali.

Navniit has also finished Saurabh Shukla’s Raat Gayi Baat Gayi which was completed in record 90 days. The film is produced by Rajat Kapoor and Pritish Nandy Communications.
