Rahul Singh is another new
face in Amber Dhara. He debuts on television with this show and essays the role
of a blind guy called Kunal. He has just completed his Bollywood project, Ek
Main Ek Tu. An exclusive chat with the model turned actor.
My role in Amber Dhara… I play the role of Kunal who is visually
challenged and a band leader. This is a very different character as I don’t walk
with the stick. I also have a strong sixth sense. Besides that I do all the work
that normal men can do. He is going to help Amber Dhara in achieving their dream.
I am paired opposite Dhara as her love interest and may be in future I’ll get
back my eyesight. I
had done proper homework… I went to a blind school and interacted with
some children. I also watched movies like Sparsh which gave me an insight about
their body language and their difficulties. It was a good experience and I love
my act in the show Medical College to modelling and now acting… Everybody
in my house is well educated. My grandmother was the principal of a college. My
mother is a doctor by profession so even I thought of following her footsteps.
In college I started getting modelling offers and medicine took a back seat. Then
I opted for B.Com and completed my graduation. After my graduation I got an offer
from a film and that is how I entered this industry. Ek Main
Ek Tu… This movie is similar to Shahid Kapoor’s IshqVishk.
There are two new girls opposite me. I can’t reveal anything but am looking forward
to the release of the film. Medium does not matter… I
could not wait for another offer to come my way and thus entered television. Swastik
Pictures called me and after auditions I was briefed on my role as Kunal. I loved
it and thought that Kunal can give me immense popularity thus I went ahead with
the show.
