Budgets suggestions for our F.M.

It’s the month of the annual budget. It’s the most hyped economic event of the year. What are the expectations of the hoi polloi from Budget ‘08? Will taxes shoot up? Will it be a gloomy budget or will it spread cheer?

What do our tellystars want from the budget? Some of our TV celebs offer suggestions to our Finance Minister just before D-Day.

Roshni Chopra

I feel the interest on home loans should go down. That will make it easier for people to purchase homes. Even I’ll be able to get my own house if the interest decreases.

Rajiv Khandelwal
I’m nobody to offer suggestions to the Finance minister. He knows his job well. But all I can wish for is that I hope they keep in mind the interest of the people.

Rahul Bhatt
I basically want the budget to focus on the film industry. The taxes are too high and the industry is not able to generate that revenue. Then you have VAT and many such taxes which is not feasible for all. I know that GDP has to be looked at to but you can’t forget the common man.

Moulli Ganguly
I think the interest on home loans should reduce. I think this is the main and the only thing that worries people. Beside that I have no right to suggest anything to the Finance minister as he knows his job well.

Sanjit Bedi
I just want to suggest to the Finance minister that after I pay my taxes can I have some money left over? And Mr. Minister please makes housewives happy by making it easy for them to run their house. Besides he should acknowledge our industry and better the stocks. These are my three humble suggestions. Otherwise the nation is doing well!

Swapnil Joshi

One thing that all of us want is lowering of taxes. Besides that the budget should provide more benefits to the film and television fraternity. They have promised to do so many things for the glamour industry but only a few things are emphasized.

Ashwini Kalsekar
I really want that our (actors) payments be increased. Property rates are ever increasing but not our salaries. I don’t even have a house of my own due to this. We pay taxes regularly but our needs are not taken care of. What facilities do we get after paying so much by way of taxes? The TDS keeps on increasing but our salary remains the same. This is the only thing I would like to suggest to the minister.
