Rajan Shahi, the director of Star Plus’ Sapna Babul Ka- Bidaai seems to have a preference for cameos (See Box). The director seems to be obsessed with making big names do cameos in his serial.

The latest to join the cameo bandwagon is Sadia Siddique. Sadia, a known face on the small screen has done serials like Banegi Apni Baat, Maan, Saat Phere and Saathi Re.

The actress is joining the show as a Kathak dance teacher to the protagonist Parul Chauhan who plays Ragini in Bidaai. Sadia says, “I am playing Arunima who is going to teach Kathak to Ragini. I did this mainly because of Rajan Shahi and secondly because of the role. I am a trained Kathak dancer, I have been learning it for quite sometime but not able to practice it. It was a challenge for me to perform in front of the camera.”

“I just wish that we had some more time to rehearse so that we could have performed better. I had just two days to rehearse but then everything went well and I hope that it is liked by the audience,” adds Sadia.

Sadia will be seen in Bidaai for two episodes. Sadia says, “I have a long term association with Rajan. I used to assist him with the casting and auditioning of the actors. Later I took to acting. But we kept in touch on and off. So, when he came up with this idea I had no reason to say no. As of now I have shot for just two episodes but Rajan has told me that my role is going to develop. So let’s see what it holds for me in the future.”

Pity the poor viewer who has by now lost track of all the tracks.
