The
veteran actress, Navni Parihar is back on
television in a brand new avatar. She’ll
be seen as the mother- in- law of the main
protagonist on Sony’s Babul Ka Aangann
Chootey Na.
“It feels good to be back after four and
a half years. The whole scenario has changed
and I’m trying my best to cope up with the
fast growing industry,” says Navni.
What
took her so long to come back? “There was
nothing exciting for me to do on the small
screen. I used to get offers but nothing
exciting. I was looking out for some different
and Babul Ka Aangann… has it. I’m
back because acting is my passion. Making
money is my husband’s job,” she says.
“Another reason for waiting for so long
was that I was not prepared for daily soaps.
This trend has just begun. During my time
they used to have weeklies and it was much
better. Now it’s more of a race,” she adds.
What was the reason for taking up this
show? “I was carried away with the concept
of the show. Babul Ka Aangann… is
a story of girl who is stuck between her
maternal and marital home. Now the question
arises of whom to choose. This is different
and people can relate to this,” she utters.
Explaining about her character she says,
“It’s a positive character where a mother-in-law
understands the situation of her daughter-in-law
(Aastha) but at the same time she has to
think about her other family members also.
As the story unfolds you’ll come to know
what happens next in Aastha’s life.”
Now as Navni has made a comeback on small
screen, is she ready to jump in for reality
shows? “As a viewer I like to watch reality
shows, but when it comes to participating
I really can’t be sure. As of now I’m very
content,” she concludes.
Welcome back Navni
