Nupur Alankar who essays the role of Halki Bua in Zee’a Ghar Ki Laxmi-Betiyaan is one actress who has her heart in the right place. Nupur believes in helping people in need and does a lot of charity. It is reported that Arzoo Khan who is a body double for Aishwarya Narkar (mother of the four daughters in the serial) and Twinkle Bajpai (Laxmi in Zee’s Betiyaan) is suffering from uterus cancer. She required an amount of 1.5 lakhs for the operation. When Nupur heard this she decided to do something to help Arzoo.

Nupur says, “Arzoo who is a body double for many artists like Aishwarya Narkar, Twinkle Bajpai from Betiyaan and Jaya Bhattacharya from Dulhann had a severe stomach ache on the sets of Betiyaan. I am into acupressure and pranayams, so everybody from the sets suggested to her to come to me. I gave her the medicine and advised her to go for a thorough check-up.”

“After a month I happened to go to the sets of Dulhann and I came to know that Arzoo suffered from stomach ache almost all the time. Later Arzoo got operated for appendix and kidney stone as well. It was during that time that her mother died of heart-attack so her personal life was in jeopardy,” adds Nupur.

Nupur continues, “Actually Arzoo fainted on the sets yesterday and we got real worried about her. I asked her to go to the doctor again and she was diagnosed of uterus cancer and she needs to get operated immediately. She needs rupees one lakh fifty thousand for the operation. She has arranged one lakh so far but she needs fifty thousand more so the entire cast has decided to help her with the money.”

Earlier too Nupur has helped an artist in distress. She recalls, “There was this senior artist Rachna Sahni whose sister Sapna Mittal had a hole in her heart and needed an immediate surgery. She wanted five lakhs for the surgery. So we appealed to all the artists for their help. Rakhi Sawant gave sixty thousand rupees. Even actors like Jackie Shroff and Shahrukh Khan helped her and she was successfully operated upon.”
