His good looks won him a host of ad films, music videos and television shows. And now Gautam Rode's luck has favoured him as he gets to play the lead in Prakesh Mehra’s Production Simply Sapney on Zee Next. Along with this he also returns to Ba, Bahu Aur Baby.

“I loved the story of Simply Sapney when it was narrated to me. After Lucky I was waiting for the right role and this came my way. I’m very happy,” says Gautam.

Elaborating on his character he says, “I play the role of Karan Mehra, a man who lacks confidence. His step mom is always gunning for him. Karan handles his dad’s hotel called Tropical Paradise and if he is not able to improve its financial condition, he won’t get a single penny from the property.”

“The main story revolves around four girls who have different dreams and one of them is a girl who enters Tropical Paradise to take over the hotel as it initially belonged to her father. The main protagonist is played by Vaibhavi Upadhyay.

What about your return to Baa Bahu Aur Baby? “It feels great to be back. I’ll be definitely marrying Dimple (Manava Naik) but there is a major twist coming soon. I can’t reveal anything more,” he says.

Any Bollywood plans? "I had done a movie but don’t want to talk about it. The film did not do well. It had no push, got no publicity and we are no film stars to be able to pull crowds. Post the film, I got a few offers but they didn’t excite me. Television is giving me more quality work and I would like to stick to it,” concludes the actor.
