They’ve been on air for barely a week but the team of Kaho Na Yaar Hai are out on a mission. After poking fun at Mallika Sherawat, host Karan Patel and his team played a prank on Gautami Kapoor on the sets of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

Here’s what happened. A couple from Allahabad visited their Tulsi maiiya on the sets. The duo claimed to have won the best couple award in a local contest. Their reward – an opportunity to meet Tulsi in person.
Says Gautami, “Initially, the excited duo presented themselves in the most honourable way. They left no stone unturned in showcasing their love for each other. I was moved when the girl even touched my feet. I quickly told her that I was too ordinary a person to offer my blessings.” Trouble began when all of a sudden the husband started talking rudely to his wife. Taken aback by this, Gautami took matters in her hand. She reprimanded the man for showing disrespect to his wife and walked off the sets saying that if he ever ill-treated his wife then she would debar him from participating in the same contest next year.

Gautami adds, “Surprisingly, I was not told that this was a prank. It was only after the episode was canned that the secret was out. As it was the Star News team that brought this couple along everything appeared very real. Also, the lady was dressed in a typical rural dress and the manner in which they spoke convinced me of their relationship. Nevertheless, we all had a hearty laugh over it.”
