Seldom do emotions appear real on reality shows but for once there were real tears. 12-year-old Anamika Chaudhary’s emotional outburst left everyone in tears on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs.

Creative Head Payal Patel says, “Prior to the show she was looking a bit uneasy but none of us had an inkling as to what was going through her mind. When her turn came, she stopped midway through her performance and burst into tears. When the judges asked her the reason for crying her answer had everyone in tears. Unable to bear his daughter Smita Nandi’s elimination her father suffered a heart attack. So, moved was Anamika by this incident that she feared a loss in this competition could have also have the same effect on her father.”

When contacted Anamika said, “I was really shocked to hear of Smita’s father. He was hospitalised for two days. I love my parents dearly and was worried that the same could happen to them. So, I wanted to quit the competition. However, my parents have now persuaded me to carry on without worrying about such things.”
