Rajeev Paul isn't sitting smug on his
laurels. Success and recognition has taken a long time in coming, and he wants
to savour it as slowly. After his stint on television the actor is all set to
make his big screen dream come true. "I loved the work of Darshan
Jariwala in Halla Bol and would love to essay such kid of character on silver
screen," says Rajeev. Why
you want to make your entry in Bollywood as a villain? "I was more successful
as a villain on television and thought that this image of mine will help me in
movies too. I want to create something new as there are no villains left in this
film industry. The earlier cinema had Amrish Puri, Danny, Amjad Khan but now you
have a cute looking hero turning negative. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't,"
he explains.
"No story is complete without a villain. Ramayan
would not be complete without Ravan. Mahabharat would be incomplete without the
Kauravs. Thus a good script needs to have a villain or else it looks unfinished,"
he adds. What's on the television front? For now there is nothing
as such but if I get a good offer I would definitely like to take it up. I know
I'll be able to balance both screens if given a chance," he concludes.
Negative or positive is not important. What's important is that
work should come in. Right Rajeev?
