Shilpa
Shinde has been in a dilemma since quite some time. Firstly,
she was unhappy about her character in Maayka
on Zee TV. She was even contemplating on quitting
the show. Then she agreed to do the new reality dance show on Sahara One Saas
v/s Bahu but soon she was in two minds about it. After which the actress wanted
to do a new soap Waaris
on Zee TV but it being a daily, dates were a big hurdle. Isn't
she the most confused girl in this world?
Well she was until some time
back. Now her dilemma is over. She has decided to continue with Maayka,
snub Saas v/s Bahu and do Waaris. Want to know why and how?
Here is Shilpa Shinde reasoning her decisions exclusively on Tellychakkar.
Why were you unhappy doing a popular show like Maayka? I
am an actor who has a craving to do different and challenging roles. My character
in Maayka is a cliché. It was not exciting me so I had a yearning
to do something new and different. Why did you back out from doing Saas
v/s Bahu? When I was approached for it, I made it very clear to
them that the concept doesn't sound interesting to me but I would think over it.
Earlier, I thought of doing it because it was at least different from playing
a weepy bahu. Wasn't Shoma Anand upset with you as the two of you were
supposed to participate together in Saas v/s Bahu? Yes, she is
a bit upset with me. Now the production house is looking for another girl who
can replace me and participate with Shomaji. I want her to participate in this
show and do well. Why did you choose Waaris? I don't
have to wear jewellery and heavy make- up for this show. My character is quite
natural. I expressed my desire of doing something different to Zee TV and they
offered me this role. Though Waaris is more male oriented I have an important
role to play. Don't your dates clash between Maayka and Waaris? Yes,
my dates do clash between the two shows. It is tough to manage. Is
the production house of Maayka happy with your career move?
Not really. I can sense a slight unhappiness on their side. Obviously,
they want me to devote more time to Maayka and they would be glad if I
do only Maayka but when I am working so hard with both the shows, I don't
think they should have any problem. From what is shown in the promos,
you and Iqbal in Waaris look similar to Abhishek and Rani in Yuva. Our
roles are similar to that of Yuva. The characters that Abhishek Bachchan
and Rani Mukherji played in Yuva were the most prominent ones among all
the characters of that movie. We play a romantic married couple with a lot of
intimacy but there are a few differences between us
