Define fashion

Fashion is about following your own style as well as being comfortable with how you look and what you wear. One should not follow fashion blindly.

Who chooses your clothes?
I choose them myself but I need a second opinion from my mom. I prefer my mom’s suggestions because she knows what suits me best.

Do you like to accessorise yourself?
I don’t really like wearing accessories. I prefer a few selected ones. I am extremely choosy when it comes to accessories. A nice belt or a pretty watch would do.

Is there any particular brand that you prefer?
I prefer Guess for accessories and brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Benetton for clothes. I don’t like spending on brands. I feel it is a waste of money.Once in a while I may go for branded clothes but not much. In the profession that I am I can’t repeat my clothes no matter how expensive they are. If I do that, it will be written about.

What is your favourite shopping destination?
I used to live in Pune. So I prefer shopping from a mall there on M.G road. In Mumbai, I like shopping from Phoenix mills, Inorbit mall and small boutiques in Bandra. I don’t like to shop in the hot sun. I prefer comfortable places like malls.

Which are the clothes that make you feel comfortable?
I feel comfortable in jeans and gunjees. I am fond of saris and totally comfortable in them. I also feel comfortable in salwar kameez. I feel uncomfortable in dresses. I used to be teased about my skinny legs in school and college, so I have become conscious of wearing short dresses. Your friends can be really mean to you in your teenage days. Many a times, I have bought dresses but they have remained untouched in my wardrobe.

Who is your favourite designer?
I have no favourite designer as they are too expensive. But I love the creations of Manish Malhotra. As far as designing my clothes are concerned, my cousin sister does it. She is not a professional designer but she is a model who has a great sense of dressing.

Most expensive outfit you ever bought?
It is a sari that I bought from a store called Jashn in Mumbai for Rs. 12,000. Actually, it is not expensive but I don’t spend much on clothes.

Any particular colour that you like to see in your wardrobe?
I love to see colours like turquoise, golden, emerald green, white and black in my wardrobe. I have lot of black clothes in my wardrobe which I wish to avoid.

A must have in your purse?
A small perfume, kajal and a lip balm are must have in my purse.

What are the make-up products that you prefer?
I prefer lip gloss from Mac and Bob has amazing shades in eye shadows.

A fashion tip
you should be aware of what suits you and you should wear only what suits you. Keep your make- up minimal as it harms the natural beauty of your skin.

A make- up tip

Remove your make- up completely before going to bed. Don’t leave any make- up on before going to bed. Since I am an actress, I have to wear heavy make- up in front of the camera but off - camera, one should keep it simple.
