Abhay Vakil who is currently seen in Salaam Zindgi is going to head his father’s business after his death last month. He is not quitting television but waiting for a meaty role to come his way.

“I lost my father last month and now his business has going for a toss. I need to concentrate on that first,” says Abhay.

Elaborating on that he further explains, “I wanted to handle that earlier but due to Salaam Zindgi I could not. I had asked my production house earlier to release me but I could only manage to get two weeks off. Now that the show is pulling off I have time to look after the business.”

So are you quitting television? “I’m very much around on television but as I said I don’t want any saas-bahu or husband kind of roles to play. I’m done with all that and now it bores me. There are so many channels coming up with a variety of shows. I’ll only take up something that fascinates me. Salaam was different and I’m sad that it’s going off air,” he avers.

So until the time some role is written for Abhay he will write some business rules.
