Neha Mehta who was last
seen on Zee’s Mamta has bagged a lead role in Waris. Based on a family drama Waris
will tentatively go on air in the first week of April on Star Plus. The show is
produced by Endemol. “I had offers of two shows from Endemol. I
liked the Star offer and said yes to it. Today I feel I have taken a good decision,”
says Neha.
Elaborating on her new venture she says, “The name of the show is very
tentative. I loved my character Gauri who is a lawyer. The strength of this character
is that she stands for her rights as well as that of others.” Prashant
will be playing her love interest in the show. “He is a corporate guy whom I initially
hate but in the coming episode will begin to love him,” she informs. Prashant
explains, “To be frank, nothing is yet decided. I’m yet to start to start the
shoot so I can’t reveal anything. Let me confirm with the channel and then talk.”
He is currently seen on Zee’s Teen Bahuraaniyan as Mahesh. The
story of Waris revolves around Gauri (Neha) and her fights to bring her family
together. She was adopted by Babuji, though he already had three sons. But all
three of them had left him alone and gone to live their life independently. “My
part in the show will be to bring all his three sons under one roof. Babuji had
written a will where he had mentioned that the property would be given to the
family only if all the three sons come and live under one roof. There are lots
of twists and turns in the serial which I can’t disclose,” she avers.
