Gaurav Khanna who plays the lead on Zee’s Meri Doli Tere Angana has exited the show. The production house, Filmtonic Entertainment is now looking for a replacement.

Supervising producer, Akhilesh says, “Gaurav has started thinking of himself as a big star and throws tantrums on the sets. He always reports two-three hours late for the shoot which results in major loss of time and money. Moreover he doesn’t want to wait for his turn to shoot. He wants us to adjust with few close-ups and rest of the master shots are left to be completed by the body-double which mar the quality of a scene.”

“He is also doing another show, Santaan because of which he is creating trouble for our show. The other day the shooting schedule was from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Gaurav reported at 4:30 p.m. We were at that time shooting with the kids who had their exams the next day and thus had to leave early. But Gaurav demanded his shot to be taken first in spite of making him aware about the children’s exams. It was that time that we took a call,” adds Akhilesh.

Gaurav refutes all the rumours and informs, “The fact is that I am quitting the show and not the other way round. I do not want to get into the nitty-gritty of the matter as producer Rahul Bhat is a very close friend of mine. We share a very healthy personal and professional relationship which I don’t want to spoil.”

“I had certain differences with other people from the production house which any actor can have. I would prefer to keep quiet as I am new to the industry. I have informed them about my decision a day before yesterday,” adds the actor.

Given a chance Gaurav would still love to work with the production house and the channel. He says, “I would sure love to work with them as they have given me my first big break. Till then viewers will get to see me more on my other show Santaan.”

When asked if he is prepared to face the legality of the matter, Gaurav says, “I just hope things will be fine once I meet Rahul. The issue is not so big that it has to be taken to court. Things should not go to that an extent.”

Sachin who according to sources is going to replace Gaurav, said, “Sorry to disappoint you all but I am not doing the show. Things were fine till this evening but I was not satisfied with the budget and money offered.”

Akhilesh too confirmed, “We are still deciding on the actor who is going to replace Gaurav. We couldn’t crack a deal with Sachin owing to money issues.”
