The actor who is going to replace Gaurav Khanna in Meri Doli Tere Angana is Sachin Chabra. He is the one who has done the Tata Tea ad where he asks a politician about his educational qualifications.

Akhilesh (Supervising Producer) says, “We have selected Sachin on account of his Tata Tea ad. He had also approached us earlier for a different role when we were revamping the show but the channel did not find him fitting the bill.”

An animated Sachin says, “It feels great to play the lead of the show. I can’t express my happiness. They happened to see my ad and called me for an audition. And finally I got selected.”

Talking about his earlier attempt to bag a role in the same show, Sachin says, “It was not for the same show but for Saath-Saath. Everything was finalised but at the end the channel informed the production house that they wanted known faces.”

The strange thing is that earlier too it was his namesake Sachin Shroff who was being considered for the lead role (replacing Gaurav Khanna) but the deal fell apart because of monetary issues.
