Producer-actor JD Majethia has added another feather to his cap, after he was conferred with the title of ‘Maharathi’ of the Gujarati community at a function held in Mumbai recently.

The actor-cum-producer got acknowledged for making a big contribution to Gujarati cinema and theatre along with the television industry.

JD Majethia says, "This award is equivalent to a Lifetime achievement award and last year Paresh Rawal was presented this prestigious title.”

JD Majethia who has been promoting Gujarati culture in most of his soaps has taken Gujarati culture a notch higher. Especially in the past few months, by launching five new soaps and enlightening people about this vibrant segment and their culture since years, Majethia has brought about a change in the way Gujaratis are perceived now.
