My
best Holi partner: I love to celebrate the festival with my younger sister
Amita. I love the colours associated with the festival.
Best Holi: It
was when I was in the sixth standard. It is the best Holi so far as there were
no restrictions. I played with all my friends in the society. We threw eggs at
each other and smeared each other with paints. The whole group then savoured on
home made sweets (gujhiya and papad). High
on Bhaang: I had it in the year 1999 when I was staying with my
parents in my hometown Lucknow. After my play got over, my friends and I decided
to have Thandai (drink) from a stall that was run by an old lady. While on my
way back home I felt that I was flying which was followed by me telling mythological
tales. I told my friend that I was Rani Laxmi Bai and I will fight against the
enemies. I also told him that I don't like his moustache and I will chop it off.
Later I realised that the thandai was mixed with bhaang. The fun was when
seeing me act weird my mother thought it to be a ghostly affair. Silly
point: I feel that acting like Rani Laxmi Bai was a bit silly. The next
day my mother and sister told me the tales of my bravery. Any
embarrassment: I sure was a bit embarrassed. I feel one can enjoy a festival
when he/she is conscious. Once you are intoxicated you become unaware of all your
doings.
Enjoy!
