An actress who got recognition with her
debut show and bagged the prestigious Rashtra Gaurav Award is Samragyi Nema. The
actress plays the role of a 40 plus mother to three kids in Star Plus’s Santaan
What is to be noted here is that Samragyi in real life is only in her
twenties. Samragyi
has also acted in some movies in the south. Like any other actress Samragyi too
was a little apprehensive to essay a role double her age. She says, “I am too
young to play the role of Gayatri Dixit. But the recognition this character has
got me is overwhelming. I have fan following right from kids to elders. They want
their daughters-in-law, wives and mothers to be like Gayatri.” The
talented actress received the prestigious award from the hands of the state minister
Subodh Kant Sahay and music-director Ismail Darbar. Samragyi says, “I am very
excited as I received such a prestigious award for my very first show as the lead.
But I always believed in the character. Gayatri is a very strong character and
difficult to essay. It is quite challenging to play 45 plus when in real you are
just in your twenties.” An animated Samragyi credits her success
to her parents and God. She says, “I would thank my parents, my guruji, God, friends
and my agent Rupesh Sonar. If it was not Rupesh I wouldn’t have agreed to do the
role.” Rashtra Gaurav Awards were held yesterday 2nd March at Iskon
Auditorium, Juhu.
